A Red Rose, Red Wine, and a Redhead

Well, February is almost over and at least here in NE PA it has been a warm record breaking month-yippee!! It should be like this every year I say.

All last week it was in the 70's F and I certainly took advantage of it! One of two early evenings was spent this way:

Feet up and soaking in nature along with a glass of merlot. Even painted my toes a pretty pink for the occasion:) Just listening and watching the birds. Cheers to my T Stands For Tuesday peeps!

For Tag Tuesday I have created a tag for  the theme of "Spring Flowers". It started like this:

I used Dreamweaver Embossing Paste through the Tim Holtz Lace stencil.

 The finished tag:

The tag was spritzed with Dylusions Bubble Gum ink spray and Distress Spray Stain in Fossilized Amber. I added a bit of gold rub-on with my finger. Finished tag with a vintage image, ribbon, Paris charm, rhinestone, turquoise metal roses and fibers. These items have been in my stash quite awhile and I don't think they are available any longer.

And alas, my position as host at Art Journal Journey this month  for the "Fifty Shades of Red" theme is about over so I have one more project to add.:

I had done a similar redhead for one of the Summer Of Color Challenges and decided to paint her again. Here's a closeup of the hair:

Also linking to Moo Mania and More (theme is hand painted) and Paint Party Friday.

I want to thank Susi, and ALL (over 140 entries) of the glorious red entries this month at AJJ! The art is truly amazing and uplifting!!  Looking forward to the new host and theme for March.

Stay tuned for a special series of posts beginning next Monday-another lovely art surprise that has gotten me so inspired to create some special projects and tutorials for YOU!

" If one says 'red' - the name of color -  and there are fifty people listening, it can be expected that there will be fifty reds in their minds. And one can be sure that all these reds will be very different."

Wishing I had been able to play along more.
Your red creations have all been super dear Linda.
Fun to see your tag before and after. The colors are brilliant and really look gorgeous.
Now you'll always know where those special bits and bobs are. I have lots of similar items I need/want to use as well.
Our spring tease of warm temps sure was nice.
I think maybe you got it better than we did even.
It was lovely to have the windows open and see the daffodils opening along with the crocus and forsythia in the garden.
Have you ever considered being a redhead LOL that just popped into my head.
Happy last T Day of February oxo

Red was not a favorite of mine, but at last I enjoyed playing around with this color for AJJ!

  8. Josef Albert's quote is so true. We simply don't know what colours other people see. A fascinating thought.
Looks like you are well and truly into spring mode. It hasn't quite made it's way here yet.

Thanks for hosting AJJ this month, I had loads of fun and learnt a lot along the way. Red is definately a colour I'm more confident in using now and that's thanks to your challenge :-). 10. You've had a great theme this month Linda. I loved it. That ending quote is perfect. I partially wish I was home enjoying those temperatures. But glad to be away and must say although cold here, I am really relaxing. Far more than I would at home. Loving your tag and lady. They are beautiful. Let's hope the weather stays warm. Happy t day 🤓 Hugs erika

  20. Love the pink polish ;)) and the wine is one of my favs. I think we all have a case of Spring Fever. We've had a few of those mid to high 70' days......between rain storms! I'm NOT complaining, better than the drought we just came through. Today is bight and sunny and my toes are already a lovely shade of lavender.......LOL!!!

Your tag is gorgeous!! Love the redhead painting. Your 50 shades of red was a fun challenge this month..........ahhh.....tomorrow we start a new month and a new AJJ challenge.

    Happy T-day

  21. I could go through Winters with 70 degree days. Boston broke record temps 3 days in a row. Unheard of in Feb! Not complaining. Loved your flip flopped feet up on the lawn chair. Perfect way to enjoy the warm weather. Your colorful tag is giving me Spring fever. I like the texture you got on the red hair gal, too. Here's to more 70 degree days!

  23. What a lovely tag! Embossing paste.... how interesting. I have not come across that. I have used gesso in the past.
Love the red haired lady! And the quote. It's probably where they get the 50 shades of red from.
    Happy T-Day,

  25. I feel horrible that it has taken me so long to visit. I'm not a very good host this week.

I couldn't believe that tag. I was so impressed that it started so colorless and turned into a majestic beauty. I was truly impressed.

I have enjoyed your lovely theme this month and wish I had participated more, but sadly things don't always work out as we would like.

Yes, I saw the pink toe nails the first thing. Loved the color, too. Thanks for sharing your merlot, your gorgeous tag, and your lovely red haired lady with us for T this Tuesday. Yep, it's still Tuesday in my world.

  32. Love all the reds you've used in this post, Linda. I especially love the red haired girl with that marvelous textured hair. My granddaughter had the most gorgeous red hair. Too bad she has cut it very short so it's not so showy. Red hair should be shown off. It's so beautiful. But mostly I want to say that the tag that started out not so ornate, really ended up as a prize piece. I LOVE it! The techniques you used on it really made it so beautiful.
